POMONA, N.Y.- The Caldwell University baseball fell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Nyack College. The Warriors won the opener 6-3 and took the nightcap 2-0.

The Cougars fall to 6-15 and 3-9 in the CACC, while the Warriors improve to 11-8 and 4-2 in conference play.

Nyack took the lead in the opener as they scored two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth. Caldwell rallied in the sixth as senior
Ryan Rivera (Saddle Brook, N.J.) reached on an error and junior
Kevin Goldman (Valley Stream, N.Y.) singled to put runners at first and third. Senior
Michael Bernstein (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly to cut the score to 3-1.

The Cougars pulled even in the seventh as they loaded the bases with two outs. Junior
Justin Jeannette (East Hanover, N.J.) reached on an error, while sophomore
Mason Marino (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior
Daniel Gregor (Monroe, N.J.) singled. Junior
Paul Marinello (Freehold, N.J.) Â tied the score at 3-3 as he singled home Jeannette and Marino.

Nyack rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh and held on in the final two innings to take the opener. Junior
Justin Picnic (River Vale, N.J.) tossed 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, while freshman
Jason Salva (West Haverstraw, N.J.) pitched two innings, allowing three runs on three hits. Freshman
Nick Cerbone (Bayonne, N.J.) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings.

In the nightcap, Caldwell was limited to four hits with Bernstein going 2-for-3 with a double. Freshman starter
Jack Anderson (Nyack, N.Y.) tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits and struck out six.
