CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team earned their 20th win of the season with a 3-0 win over Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. The Cougars reached 20 wins for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.
The Cougars improve to 20-7 overall and 13-3 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 1-27 and 0-17 in conference play.
Caldwell swept the match as they won 25-16, 25-13 and 25-14.
Senior
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) led the way with 12 kills and two blocks, while sophomore
Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) totaled seven kills and four blocks (one solo). Senior
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) posted seven kills and two aces in the win, while senior
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) tallied 14 digs, four assists and two aces.
Sophomore
Avery Stanechewski (Tampa, Fla.) chipped in four kills and one solo block, while freshman
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) totaled four kills and seven digs. Senior
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas) posted 19 assists and two aces, while junior
Alyssa Ayala (Wantagh, N.Y.) contributed eight assists and three digs.
Head Coach
John Titus in his sixth season has guided the Cougars to five 20-win seasons. He currently has a career coaching record of 125-67 at Caldwell.
The Cougars travel to Felician University for a CACC match on Wednesday, November 8 at 7 pm.
