WINTER PARK, Fla.- The #20 Caldwell University women's basketball team suffered their first setback of the season as they lost to #7 Rollins College 80-59 to wrap up play at the Tars Thanksgiving Classic.
Caldwell is ranked #20 in this week's D2SIDA Media National Poll, while the Tars are ranked seventh in the nation. The Cougars fall to 5-1, while the Tars improve to 6-0.
The Tars jumped out to an early lead as they built a 23-11 lead after the opening quarter. Caldwell trimmed the score to 10 points early in the second quarter but Rollins pushed their lead to 16 points late in the first half.
Senior
Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.) led the Cougars with eight first half points as Caldwell trailed 41-22 at halftime.
The nationally ranked Tars maintained a double-digit lead through the second half as Caldwell dropped their first game of the season.

Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.) led the way with 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Sanders tallied 11 points, five boards, four assists and two steals. Sophomore
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) chipped in nine points and two assists, while senior
Karlie O'Driscoll (Sharon, Mass.) finished with six points, four rebounds and two steals. Junior
Kristen Siscamanis (Winthrop, Mass.) netted six points in the game.
The Cougars return to the Northeast on Wednesday, November 29 as they travel to regionally ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas College for a non-conference game at 5:30 pm.
