Women’s Tennis Comes Up Short to Wilmington

CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's tennis team lost 8-1 to Wilmington University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
 
The Cougars fall to 3-7 overall and 1-6 in the CACC, while the Wildcats improve to 4-5 and 3-2 in conference play.
 
Senior Rebecca Ryan (Berkeley Heights, N.J) fell at #2 singles 6-2, 6-2, while sophomore Janis Jimenez (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) lost at #3 singles 8-5. Sophomore Amy Tang (West Orange, N.J.) earned Caldwell lone win with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #6 singles.
 
In doubles play, senior Valeria Otarola (Lima, Peru) and Ryan fell at the top spot 8-2. Senior Shannon Donaldson (Bonita Springs, Fla.) and Jimenez fell at #2 doubles 8-3.
 
The Cougars travel to West Chester University for a non-conference match on Wednesday, October 11 at 3 pm.
