NYACK, N.Y.- Caldwell University women's soccer team junior
Emily Valerian (Roseland, N.J.) netted a pair of goals to lead the Cougars to a 4-1 win over Nyack College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.
The Cougars improve to 5-6-0 overall and 4-3-0 in the CACC, while the Warriors drop to 1-11-0 and 1-6-0 in conference play.
Caldwell scored a pair of goals in the opening half. Freshman
Teaghan Darling (Forked River, N.J.) gave the Cougars the early lead with a goal in the tenth minute. Valerian added to the Caldwell lead with a goal in the 38th minute.
Valerian pushed Caldwell's lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 71st minute. Junior
Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) scored her third goal of the season in the 77th minute. Nyack tallied a goal in the 84th minute.
Sophomore
Daniela Lucca (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) finished with seven saves in the win.
The Cougars host Georgian Court University in a CACC match-up on Saturday, October 7 at 11 am at Caldwell Field.
