BLOOMFIELD, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team maintained their tie for the division lead as the Cougars swept Bloomfield College 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.
 
The Cougars improve to 18-6 overall and 13-3 in the CACC, while the Bears drop to 6-19 and 5-11 in conference play.
 
The teams played two close sets as the Cougars won the 25-20 and 25-23. Caldwell jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the final set and won the match with a 25-7 win in the third set.
 
Senior Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) tallied 16 kills and six digs in the win, while senior Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) finished with 10 kills, eight digs and two aces. Freshman Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) added 10 kills, while sophomore Avery Stanechewski (Tampa, Fla.) totaled six kills.
 
Junior Alyssa Ayala (Wantagh, N.Y.) led the Cougars with 19 assists along with two aces, while senior Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas) chipped in 17 assists and two aces. Senior Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) recorded 11 digs, while sophomore Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) totaled five kills and three digs.
 
The Cougars continue their road trip as they travel to Southern Connecticut State University for a non-conference match on Wednesday, November 1 at 7 pm.
