Canino Nets Four Goals as Men’s Soccer Powers Past Felician

LYNDHURST, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer freshman Alessandro Canino (Parma, Italy) turned in a career game with four goals to lead the Cougars to a 4-1 victory over Felician University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
 
The Cougars improve to 6-9-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons drop to 5-10-2 and 4-6-2 in conference play.  
 
The teams battled through an even first half as they each netted seven shots in the half.
 
Felician took the lead early in the second half to jump in front 1-0. Caldwell rallied back with four goals over the final 21 minutes of the game.
 
Canino tallied his first collegiate goal in the 69th minute as he scored off an assist from senior Sam Odell (Walton-On-Thames, England). Canino put the Cougars in front for good as he scored off an assist from junior Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain).
 
Canino continued his career day with his third goal of the game in the 86th minute off an assist from junior Tom Yorston (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom). Caldwell capped the game in the 89th minute as Escudero found Canino for his fourth goal of the game
 
In net, freshman Nils Svere (Lier, Norway) was solid in net as he recorded four saves in the win.   
 
The Cougars wrap up the regular season as they host Bloomfield College for a CACC clash at 3 pm at Caldwell Field.
