Dockett Totals 200 All-Purpose Yards in Sprint Football Loss to Mansfield

WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University sprint football freshman Jared Dockett (Bloomfield, N.J.) posted over 200 all-purpose yards in the Cougars 49-19 loss to Mansfield University in a Collegiate Sprint Football League contest on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Cougars fall to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the CSFL South Division, while the Mountaineers improve to 1-4 and 1-2 in South Division play.
 
Mansfield scored on their opening drive but the Cougars answered on their first possession of the game. Freshman Carl Watson (Newark, N.J.) took Caldwell's first play from scrimmage down the sidelines for a 66-yard rushing touchdown to cut the score to 7-6.
 
The Mountaineers pushed ahead 35-6 late in the first half but Caldwell found the end zone just before halftime. Caldwell mounted a 10-play, 75-yard drive that last just over four minutes to score their second touchdown of the game. Freshman quarterback Vincent Crisafi (Clark, N.J.) connected with Watson for a key 32-yard pass play on 3rd-and-28 from near midfield to put the Caldwell offense in the red zone. Freshman running back Zavion Stevens (Bloomfield, N.J.) took it the rest of the way as he rushed it in from 16-yards out as the Cougars trailed 35-12 at halftime.
 
Dockett capped off his career day as he recorded the program's first kickoff return for a score late in the fourth quarter. He took the kickoff 78-yards for a touchdown with 3:48 left in the game.
 
Crisafi tossed for 125 yards in the air, while freshman Ryan Mondo (Belleville, N.J.) finished with 64 passing yards. Watson rushed four times for 87 yards, including a 66-yard first quarter score. Stevens finished with 84 rushing yards on 12 carries and one touchdown, while running back Quazier Dailey (Prospect Park, N.J.) posted 50 yards on the ground.
 
Dockett posted the program's first 100-yard receiving game as he finished with four receptions for 107 yards, including a 53-yard catch. He also had two punt returns for 21 yards and three kickoff returns for 114 yards, including a 78-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Dockett totaled 242 all-purpose yards for the day.
 
On defense, junior Quintin Quartararo (Lakewood, N.J.) led the Cougars with eight tackles and a pass defense, while freshman Nathan Harris-Norton (Lindenwood, N.J.) also finished with eight tackles and a pass-break-up. Freshman Jamar Buckner (Philadelphia, Pa.) added four tackles, two pass break-ups and one interception.
 
The Cougars are back in action on Friday, October 20 as they travel to Chestnut Hill College for a CSFL South Division match-up at 7 pm.
