OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.- Sophomore
Gianna Klucker (Tamins, Switzerland) netted a goal and an assist to lead the Caldwell University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win against NYIT in a non-conference match.
The Cougars improve to 5-3-1 overall, while the Bears fall to 3-3-0 on the season.
The scoring all took place in the opening 45 minutes as the Cougars struck first to take the early lead. Klucker got Caldwell on the board as she chipped the ball past the goalkeeper in the 16
th minute for a 1-0 Cougar lead.

Emily Valerian (Roseland, N.J.) put the Cougars up 2-0 off a Klucker assist in the 27
th minute. NYIT got their goal in 39
th minute as they closed to gap to 2-1.
NYIT held the edge in shots 19-10 and shots on goal 7-3 but the Cougars were able to hold on for a non-conference victory.
Senior
Kylie Whalen (Hazlet, N.J.) played the first half, earning the win, as she recorded four saves. Freshman
Daniela Lucca (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) saw her first action of the season as she played the second half and posted two saves.
The Cougars travel to Georgian Court University on Saturday, October 1 for a CACC clash at 3:30 pm
