CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University men's soccer team came up short with their first conference loss of the season as they fell to Wilmington University 2-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars fall to 4-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the CACC, while the Wildcats up their record to 5-1-0 and 2-1-0 in conference play.
Caldwell took the early lead as junior
Martin Djikanovic (Podgorica, Montenegro) booted the Cougars into the lead off an assist from sophomore
Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain). The Wildcats answered less than 10 minutes before halftime as they evened the score at 1-1.
The Wildcats netted the go-ahead goal late in the second half as they took the lead in the 78
th minute. The Cougars had a couple of opportunities late but shots by Escudero and junior
Patrick Grey (Auckland, Australia) failed to find net as Caldwell dropped its first CACC contest.

Fritz Meister (Flaach, Switzerland) totaled two saves for the game.
The Cougars host East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, September 27 at 4 pm at Caldwell Field.
