BLOOMFIELD, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's soccer team earned their second win in a row as they blanked the Bloomfield College Bears 5-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. The Cougars improve to 2-3-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the CACC, while the Bears fall to 0-6-0 and 0-3-0 in conference play.

Caldwell netted four of their goals in the first half as sophomore Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) scored in the fifth minute of play off an assist from sophomore Gianna Klucker (Tamins, Switzerland) to put the Cougars in the lead. Freshman Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) added to the Cougars lead with a pair of goals. Grundhauser scored in the 12th minute off an assists from junior Shelagh Kerrisk (Keansburg, N.J.) and netted her second goal of the game in the 28th minutes with Klucker registering the assist.

The Cougars tacked on another goal in the opening half as sophomore Emily Valerian (Roseland, N.J.) found the back of the net with freshman Amber Raines (Millville, N.J.) earning the assist.  

Caldwell added a goal late in the second half as Grundhauser completed her first collegiate hat trick in the 82nd minute. Senior Jessica Garretson (Atco, N.J.) registered the assist as the Cougars picked up their second conference win of the season.

In net, sophomore goalie Mary Kanzler (East Northport, N.Y.) recorded six saves in 90 minutes in net. 

Caldwell hosts Felician University in a make-up game from the September 14 rain out. The Cougars and the Golden Falcons will play on Thursday, September 22 at 4 pm at Caldwell Field.
