CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's tennis team earned their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory as the edged past the Chestnut Hill College Griffins 5-4. The Cougars even their mark to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the CACC, while the Griffins drop to 0-2 and 0-2 in conference play.
The Cougars picked up two wins in doubles play as freshman
Janis Jimenez (Shrub Oak. N.Y.) and junior
Shannon Donaldson (Bonita Springs, Fla.) won at the #2 slot 9-8 (7-2). Caldwell won in #3 doubles by default.
In singles play, junior
Valeria Otarola (Lima, Peru) won her match at #3 flight 6-1. 6-2. while Donaldson also won in singles play. Donaldson took the win at #4 singles 6-0, 6-0. The Cougars also earned a win by default at #6 singles as they defeated the CACC second place finishers from a year ago,.

The Cougars host Molloy College in a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 20 at 3 pm at the CU Tennis Courts.
