CALDWELL, N.J.- Senior pitcher
Amber Padilla (Chino, CA) tossed a no-hitter in the opener as the #17 Caldwell University softball team swept a doubleheader against Philadelphia University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. The two wins give the Cougars the CACC Regular Season Title and the top seed in the upcoming CACC Championship starting on Thursday. Caldwell won the opener behind Padilla's no-no 4-0 and completed the sweep with a 7-0 win in the nightcap.

Caldwell, the East Region's top seed in last week poll, improves to 33-11 and 23-3 in the CACC, while the Rams end their season at 14-32-1 and 10-16.

In the opener, freshman
Hannah Polak (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) went 2-for-2 with an RBI double and a solo homerun to help power the Cougars offense. Senior
Brielle Reighn (Runnemeade, NJ) doubled in a run while freshman
Carly Testa (Sicklerville, NJ) drove in another run for Caldwell.

Padilla (17-3) allowed one runner to reach base on an error and struck out eight with no walks in her last home game for the Cougars.

In the nightcap, senior
Caitlin McCready (Jupiter, FL) drove in three runs with a two-run double in the second inning and a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Reighn went 3-for-3 with two doubles. Sophomore
Kiahna Silva (Etiwanda, CA) ripped a pair of RBI doubles in the third and fifth inning.
Junior pitcher
Sydney Ponto (West Deptford, NJ) improved to 15-7 on the season as she tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and struck out six. Freshman
Alexa Toner (Mt. Laurel, NJ) pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings, striking out two. Â

Prior to game one, Caldwell Softball recognized its five graduating seniors that were playing in their final home game.

Megan Fryday (San Marcos, CA), McCready, Padilla and Reighn were honored for their Cougar careers in front of the home fans.

The Cougars are the top seed in this week's CACC Championship, hosted by Georgian Court University. #1 Caldwell will face #8 Felician University in the opening game on Thursday, April 28 at Field 1 on the campus of GCU at 10 am. Â
