WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University Women's Lacrosse team scored a pair of first half goals as the Cougars fell to the Philadelphia University Rams 17-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. The Cougars fall to 4-6 overall and 4-2 in the CACC, while the Rams improve to 8-4 and 5-0 in conference play.
Freshman
Maryellen McCarthy (Levittown, NY) scored the first Cougar goal on the game on a free-position shot near the midway point of the opening half. Sophomore
Mariah Wynn (Clearwater, FL) scored four minutes later but Caldwell trailed 13-2 at halftime.
Philadelphia maintained their lead into the second half but the Cougars netted a pair of late goals. Sophomore
Emily Fey (Center Moriches, NY) scored with 7:25 left in the game, while sophomore
Jessica Minuto (Levittown, NY) netted a down-goal with under a minute to play.
In net, freshman
Elizabeth Ruedemann (Monmouth Junction, NJ) recorded 14 saves in 47 minutes between the pipes. Freshman
Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, FL) posted a pair of saves in just under 13 minutes in net.
The Cougars travels to Georgian Court University on Saturday, April 16 for a CACC clash at noon.
