LANTANA, Fla.- The Caldwell University baseball team fell in a doubleheader to the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen 20-0 and 15-0. The Penmen remain unbeaten at 12-0, while the Cougars fall to 2-3 on the season.
In the opener, the Cougars were limited to six hits as sophomore
Justin Jeannette (East Hanover, NJ) went 2-for-3 with his second triple of the season. Sophomore
Justin Picinic (Park Ridge, NJ) tossed five innings, allowing nine runs (three earned) and struck out two to fall to 0-1.
In the nightcap, sophomore
Christopher Cerf (Ramsey, NJ) got the start on the mound, going five innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and struck out one to fall to 0-1 on the season. Offensively, Caldwell was limited to five hits as sophomore
Noah Clark (Toms River, NJ) went 2-for-3 in the game. Junior
Ryan Rivera (Saddle Brook, NJ) went 1-for-2 and recorded a stolen base.
Caldwell continues their Florida trip as they take on Fairmont St. University on Monday, March 14 at the Santaluces Sports Complex in Lantana, FL at 1 pm.
