PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Junior
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) tallied 13 kills to lead the Caldwell University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win against USciences in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars improve to 12-8 overall and 5-3 in the CACC, while the Devils fall to 4-8 and 3-6 in conference play.
The teams battled through a back and forth first set with the Devils slipping past Caldwell 27-25. Caldwell pulled away late in the second set, winning 25-15 to even the match. The Cougars continued their path to victory with a 25-21 set three win and closed out the match 25-14 in the fourth set.
Janssen added three blocks and six digs to her match-high 18 kills, while junior
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) totaled 15 kills and eight digs.
Junior
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas) led the team with 24 assists and 11 digs with a match-high seven aces. Sophomore
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) posted added 14 assists. Freshman
Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) finished with three kills, five digs and four blocks, while junior
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) totaled a match-best 19 digs.
The Cougars face the current CACC North Division leader in Post University on the road on Tuesday, October 11 at 7 pm.
