CALDWELL, N.J.- Junior
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) tallied 13 kills to lead the Caldwell University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win against Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars improve to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 4-12 and 3-4 in conference play.
Caldwell slowly pulled away in the opening set before netting the final 10 points to win 25-11. The Cougars pulled ahead 15-10 in the second set but the Chargers battled back to tie the score at 21. The teams traded points but Caldwell got the final three points to win 25-22. The Cougars jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the third set and took the match 25-17.
Janssen totaled 13 kills and three total blocks, while freshman
Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) chipped in nine kills and two blocks. Junior
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) posted nine kills, 13 digs and two aces, while freshman
Avery Stanechewski (Tampa, Fla.) added eight kills and three blocks.

Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas) led the team with 20 assists, while adding eight digs, while sophomore
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) posted 14 assists. Junior
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) posted a team-best 18 digs, while junior
Julia Cummings (Palm Harbor, Fla.) finished with three kills and two blocks.
The Cougars travel to USciences on Saturday, October 8 as they face the Devils in a CACC match-up at 12 pm.
