CALDWELL, N.J.- Junior
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) led the Cougars with 11 kills but the Caldwell University volleyball team fell 3-0 to Bloomfield College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.

The Cougars fall to 16-10 overall and 9-5 in the CACC, while the Bears improve to 16-10 and 12-2 in conference play.

The teams battled in three close sets. The teams traded leads in the opening set with Caldwell leading late at 23-22 but Bloomfield scored the final three points to win 25-22. The Cougars pulled even at 20-20 in the second set but the Bears went up 24-20 before winning 25-22. Bloomfield led 21-17 and the Bears took the match 25-23.

Auyong totaled eight digs and two aces, while junior
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) chipped in nine kills, four digs, two blocks and two aces. Freshman
Avery Stanechewski (Tampa, Fla.) recorded six kills while freshman
Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) posted four kills.

Melanie Krpec (Katy, Texas) finished with 15 digs, while junior
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) led the way with 20 digs. Junior
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas) led the Cougars with 15 assists and 15 digs, while sophomore
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished with 14 assists.
