CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's soccer team earned their third win in a row as they battled to a 2-0 victory against Nyack College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars stand in second place in the CACC as they improve to 9-6-1 overall and 8-2-0 in the CACC, while the Warriors drop to 6-9-0 and 6-5-0 in conference play.
Caldwell controlled the action from the open as they held a 13-3 first half advantage in shots. The Cougars were award a penalty kick in the 26th minute and sophomore
Gianna Klucker (Tamins, Switzerland) capitalized as she booted the ball past the goalie for a 1-0 lead.
Nyack pushed their offensive unit forward in the second half as they had a few scoring opportunities late in the second half. The Cougars put the game out of reach in the 86th minute sophomore
Emily Valerian (Roseland, N.J.) got free on a breakaway, dribbled down the middle of the field and kicked the ball to the left of the goalie for a 2-0 lead.
Caldwell dominated the shots 21-7 and shots on goal 12-2. The Cougars also held the edge in corner kicks 7-2.

Kylie Whalen (Hazlet, N.J.) recorded a pair of saves in 90 minutes in net.
The Cougars hit the road for their final two conference games of the regular season. Caldwell travels to Holy Family University on Saturday, October 22 for a 12 pm match.
