WILMINGTON, Del.- The Caldwell University women's soccer team were paced by three second half goals as the Cougars blanked Goldey-Beacom College 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars up their record to 8-6-1 overall and 7-2-0 in the CACC, while the Lightning fall to 9-4-1 and 5-3-1 in conference play.
Caldwell dominated the shot total as they finished with a 22-3 shot advantage. Despite totaling nine shots in the opening half to the Lightning's two, neither team found an opening and the game was scoreless at halftime.
The Cougars got their offense going in the second half as sophomore
Gianna Klucker (Tamins, Switzerland) put Caldwell up a goal off an assist from freshman
Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) in the 63rd minute.

Jessica LaConde (Huntington Beach, Calif.) extended their lead in the 76th in minute off an assist from sophomore
Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.). Sophomore
Emily Valerian (Roseland, N.J.) tacked on an insurance goal later in the half, scoring in the 86th minute with junior
Shelagh Kerrisk (Keansburg, N.J.) earning the assist.
In net, senior
Kylie Whalen (Hazlet, N.J.) played 90 minutes in net and recorded one save.
Caldwell hosts Nyack College in their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, October 18 at 3 pm.
