PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Junior
Shannon Donaldson (Bonita Springs, Fla.) and freshman
Janis Jimenez (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) won both their singles and doubles matches but the Caldwell University women's tennis team fell short to Philadelphia University 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars fall to 4-9 overall and 1-6 in the CACC, while the Rams improve to 5-6 and 3-4 in conference play.
Caldwell won their lone doubles match as Jimenez and Donaldson won at #2 doubles 8-5.
The Cougars had more success in singles play as they won three matches. Junior
Valeria Otarola (Lima, Peru) won at #2 singles 6-0, 6-4. Jimenez took the win at #3 singles 6-2, 6-1, while Donaldson won at #4 singles 6-4, 6-3.
The Cougars wrap up their 2016 season as they host Daemen College on Sunday, October 16 at 11 am.
