LAKEWOOD, N.J.- The Caldwell University men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game. The Cougars move to 4-5-2 overall and 3-1-2 in the CACC, while the Lions fall to 6-3-1 and 4-1-1 in conference play.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half with the Lions holding an 8-7 edge in total shots.
The Lions dominated the second half shots 13-6 but only managed one goal. The Cougars struck first in the 55th minute as freshman
Darren Appanah (Enfield, England) put Caldwell in the lead off an assist from sophomore
Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain).
Georgian Court pulled even in the 68th minute of play as they tied the game at 1-1. Both teams had scoring chances late in regulation but the game headed to overtime.
The Lions outshot the Cougars 7-1 in both overtime periods but after 120 minutes the game ended in a tie.

Fritz Meister (Flaach, Switzerland) finished with nine saves in the game.
The Cougars host Concordia College on Wednesday, October 5 at 4 pm at Caldwell Field.
