Nicole Angelo (Mt. Laurel, NJ) netted 19 points to help lead the Caldwell University women's basketball team to an 80-62 win against the Georgian Court University Lions in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. Â

The Cougars improve to 13-7 and 8-3 in the CACC while the Lions fall 5-14 and 3-8 in conference play.

The Lions jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first two minutes of play. Caldwell rallied as they pulled ahead by seven points at 15-8 with 5:02 left in the opening quarter. Georgian Court evened the score at 16 with 2:59 remaining in the first quarter.

The Cougars rallied with a 22-6 run that stretched until the 6:16 mark of the second quarter. Sophomores
Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, MA) and
Karlie O'Driscoll (Sharon, MA) each netted four points, while junior
Antoinette Pilla (Scarsdale, NY) and Angelo each netted triples to help Caldwell build a 38-22 lead. Georgian Court rallied to close the half but Caldwell led 40-34 at halftime.

Caldwell extended their halftime lead to 11 points early in the second half at 49-38 with 7:22 left in the third quarter. The Lions closed the gap as they sliced the score down to three points late in the quarter. Angelo answered with a triple and later in the fourth quarter added another three-pointer along with a three-point play to push the Cougar lead to 22 points late in the contest. The Lions scored four late points but the Cougars picked up their eighth conference victory of the season.

For the Cougars, Angelo shot 4-for-6 from downtown as she tallied 19 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals. Sanders posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards along with eight assists and four steals. Pilla chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while O'Driscoll totaled 12 points and two boards. Freshman
Caroline Dunn (Denville, NJ) added nine points and five rebounds.
