CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University Women's Soccer team fell to the Molloy College Lions in their home opener 3-1 in a non-conference tilt. The Cougars fall to 0-3-0, while the Lions improve to 1-0-2 overall.
Molloy took an early lead as they netted a goal in the tenth minute of play. The Lions added a pair of second half goals as they build a 3-0 lead midway through the second half.
Caldwell got on the board in the 70th as
Kelly Folk (Jackson, NJ) scored on a penalty kick to cut their deficit to 3-1. The Cougars held the advantage on corner kicks 5-4, including a pair in the final 15 minutes but fell short.
In net, freshman
Mary Kanzler (East Northport, NY) recorded four saves in 90 minutes of action.
The Cougars take on American International College on Saturday, September 12 at 1 pm at Caldwell Field.
