Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Comes Up Short in Overtime to Concordia

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- Freshman Tom Yorston (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom) netted an early first half goal but the Caldwell University men's soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime to the Concordia College Clippers in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.

The Cougars fall to 0-8-1 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play, while the Clippers improve to 4-2-1 and 3-2-1 in CACC play.

Yorston put the Cougars on the board with his third goal of the season in the 17th minute off an assist from senior Christian Castro (Clifton, N.J.). Caldwell was outshot in the half but held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Concordia got the equalizer in the 67th minute to even the score at 1-1. Neither team broke the tie in regulation nor the game headed to overtime. The Clippers netted the game-winners with seven seconds left in the first overtime to take the game.

Senior Michael Hartmann (Medford, N.J.) posted 11 saves in the loss.

The Cougars travel to Wilmington University on Saturday, October 3 for a CACC clash at 3 pm.
