CALDWELL, N.J.- Sophomore
Katrina Janssen (Seville Australia) tallied a match-high 14 kills as the Caldwell University women's volleyball team downed the Dominican College Chargers 3-0n in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars improve their record to 9-4 overall and 2-1 in CACC play, while the Chargers fall to 1-13 and 1-2 in conference play.
Caldwell took the opener 26-24 and rallied from a 22-17 deficit in the second set to take the win 25-23. The Cougars raced out to a 6-0 lead in the final set and cruised to a 25-10 victory.
Janssen led the Cougars with 14 kills, while chipping in two blocks. Sophomore
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI) recorded 13 kills, while senior
Rachael DiLeonardo (Milton, GA) posted six kills and nine digs. Sophomore
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, IL) led the team with 19 digs. Sophomore
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, TX) totaled 20 assists, while
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, CO) added 14 assists.
The Cougars have a pair of home matches on Saturday, September 26. Caldwell takes on Georgian Court University at 4:30 pm in a CACC clash, followed by a non-conference match against Queens College at 6:30 pm.
