Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) led the Caldwell University women's volleyball team with 19 kills to lead the Cougars to a 3-2 win over Molloy College. Caldwell improves to 6-3 overall, while the Lions fall to 2-8 on the season.
The Cougars took first two sets 31-29 and 25-12 but the Lions pulled even with wins in the ensuing two set by scores of 25-21 and 26-24. Caldwell came away with the victory as they took the deciding set 15-10.
In the match, Janssen added three blocks, while sophomore
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI) posted double digits in kills and digs with 18 and 12 respectively. Senior
Rachael DiLeonardo (Milton, GA) totaled 14 kills and 20 digs, while sophomore
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, TX) added 24 assists and 15 digs. Sophomore
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, IL) finished with 20 digs.
Caldwell opens up CACC play as they travel to Post University on Thursday, September 17 for a 7 pm match.
