CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team opened up play at the Wilmington Tournament as they defeated the Pace University Setters 3-1 but fell to the Le Moyne College Dolphins 3-0.

In their opening match victory over the Setters, Caldwell took the first two sets 25-16 and 25-22 but fell in the third set 26-24. The Cougars wrapped up the win with a 25-9 win in set four. Sophomore
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) led the Cougars with 16 kills and four blocks. Freshman
Kristin Murrell (Toledo, OH) added 13 kills along with 10 digs.
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, TX) totaled 35 assists, while
Rachael DiLeonardo (Milton, GA) chipped in eight kills and 14 digs. Sophomore
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, IL) led the team with 16 digs.

In their second match of the day, Caldwell fell in three sets 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI) led the way with 14 kills, while Murrell posted six kills and nine digs.
Kelsey Blankerts (Sylvania, OH) finished with six kills and nine digs. Bennett totaled 16 assists and Mitchell chipped in 12 digs.

The Cougars wrap up play at the Wilmington Tournament on Saturday, September 12 as they will face Franklin Pierce University at noon and American International College on 2 pm.
