WATERBURY, Conn. – The Caldwell University women's lacrosse team earned its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory in program history with a 12-9 win at Post University Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field. The Cougars, who beat Post on Friday for the program's first win, are now 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the CACC. The Eagles drop to 0-3, 0-1 CACC.
Caldwell jumped out to a 4-1 lead on goals by freshmen
Daniela Costanzo (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick),
Mariah Wynn (Clearwater, FL/Palm Harbor),
Emily Fey (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) and
Jessica Minuto (Levittown, NY/Division Avenue). Post scored the next three goals to tie the score at 4-4, but Minuto and sophomore midfielder
Christina Gonzalez (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) answered for the Cougars to regain the lead, 6-4. After Post again pulled even, Costanzo scored her second goal of the game to give Caldwell a 7-6 halftime lead.
In the second half, freshman attack
Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) scored twice and Fey found the net again to put the Cougars ahead, 10-7. Sophomore midfielder
Courtney Donlon (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) tallied two goals in the game's final 10 minutes to help close out the victory.

Melissa Garris (Matawan, NJ/Old Bridge) made five saves in goal for Caldwell. Post's Kathy Walker recorded 11 saves, as Caldwell held a 27-16 advantage in shots.
The Cougars continue CACC play with a game at Nyack College on Saturday, Mar. 21, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Nyack, N.Y.
