Tamara Klimek (Novi Sad, Serbia) continued her stellar individual play with wins in #1 singles and doubles play to lead the Caldwell University women's tennis team to a 8-1 win over Kutztown University. The Cougars improve to 3-7 overall, while the Bears fall to 0-1 in dual meet play.
Caldwell swept singles play as Klimek took #1 singles 6-2, 6-0, while sophomore
Rebecca Ryan (Berkeley Heights, NJ) won at #2 flight 6-1, 6-1. Senior
Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ) won at #3 singles 6-0, 6-0, while senior
Sara Riccardi (Jersey City, NJ) took the win at #4 singles 8-4. Junior
Koumudi Thirunagaru (San Ramon, CA) won 8-3 at #5 singles, while sophomore
Debra Pellegrino (Valley Stream, NY) completed the singles sweep with an 8-2 win at #6 flight.
In doubles play, Klimek and Slater won at #1 flight 8-0, while Ryan and Riccardi scored the win at #2 doubles 8-2.
The Cougars are back on the court on Saturday, October 10 when they will travel to Philadelphia University for a CACC match at noon.
