CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University volleyball team used a balanced attack to defeat the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars improve to 19-10 overall and 11-5 in the CACC, while the Lightning fall to 6-18 and 2-14 in conference play.
Caldwell swept the match as they won 25-13, 25-11 and 25-13 to close out their 11
th conference victory of the season.
Senior
Kelsey Blankerts (Sylvania, OH) led the way with eight kills, two aces and four total blocks (one solo), while fellow senior
Rachael DiLeonardo (Milton, GA) posted five kills and eight digs. Sophomore
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) chipped in six kills and four blocks (one solo), while sophomore
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI) added six kills and five digs.
Sophomore
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, IL) posted a match-high 15 digs, while sophomore
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, TX) recorded 20 assists and eight digs.
Caldwell hosts Wilmington University on Saturday, October 24 at 4:30 pm at the Newman Center.
