Men’s Soccer Edges Felician 2-1

LYNDHURST, N.J.- The Caldwell University men's soccer team scored a late second half goal to defeat the Felician College Golden Falcons 2-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.

The Cougars improve to 4-12-1 and 3-7-1 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 2-15-0 and 1-11-0 in conference play.

Caldwell struck first on the 29th minute of play as senior Noah Pederson (San Jose, CA) scored off a double assist from sophomore Enrico Freitag (Magdeburg, Germany) and junior Jakub Havlak (Prague, Czech Republic).

Felician netted the equalizer in the 34th minute as the teams headed to halftime tied at 1-1.

In the second half, the Caldwell took the lead in the 64th minute as freshman Italo Cardoso (Monroe, NJ) found the back of the net off an assist from freshman Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain).

Senior goalie Michael Hartmann (Medford, NJ) played in net in the first half, while sophomore  Fritz Meister (Flaach, Switzerland) recorded a pair of second half saves to earn his first win of the season.

The Cougars end their season on Saturday, October 31 as they host Georgian Court in a CACC match at 11:30 am at Caldwell Field.
