CALDWELL, N.J.- Senior goalie
Michael Hartmann (Medford, N.J.) capped off his collegiate career with eight saves to help lead the Caldwell University men's soccer team to a 4-3 victory against the Georgian Court Lions in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars end their season at 5-12-1 and 4-7-1 in CACC play, while the Lions finish 2015 at 7-8-2 and 4-6-2 in conference play.
Caldwell jumped in from early as senior
Noah Pederson (San Jose, CA) put the Cougars in front with a goal tenth minute of play. Sophomore
Sam Odell (Surrey, England) added a goal off an assist from Pederson to extend the Caldwell lead to 2-0 in the 29th minute of play.
Georgian Court answered in the 35th minute with a goal to cut the score to 2-1 but the Cougars added a score late in the first half. Freshman
Italo Cardoso (Monroe, NJ) found the back of the next off an assist from freshman
Tom Yorston (Northamptonshire, UK) to give Caldwell a 3-1 lead heading into halftime.
The Lions rallied back in the second half as they netted a goal in the 52nd minute and found the equalizer in the 75th minute. Freshman
Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain) put the Cougars in front to stay as he netted the game-winner in the 79
th minute to lift Caldwell to the victory.
In his final collegiate game, Hartmann went out a winner, as he recorded eight saves in the victory.
