CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University men's soccer team took an early lead against a national-ranked team but come up short to #14 Millersville 2-1 in non-conference play.
The Cougars fall to 3-12-1, while the Marauders improve to 13-2-1 on the season.
The Cougars struck first as junior
Jakub Havlak (Prague, Czech Republic) put Caldwell in the lead in the 16
th minute of play.
Sjoerd Blankenstein (Driebergen, Netherlands) fed the ball in to from down the sidelines to Havlak who kicked is past the goalie for the early lead.
Millersville answered in the 28
th minute as they scored to even the game at 1-1. The Marauders got the go-ahead goal in the 35
th minute to go up 2-1.
Caldwell held the edge in shots in both halves and overall at 16-11 and led in corner kicks 11-4 but could not find the equalizer.

Michael Hartmann (Medford, NJ) recorded three saves in the game.
Caldwell travel to Felician College on Wednesday, October 28 for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at 8 pm.
