CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University men's soccer team netted a pair of second half goals but their rally fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Chestnut Hill College Griffins in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars fall to 2-10-1 overall and 1-6-1 in CACC play, while the Griffins improve to 5-5-2 and 4-3-2 in conference play.
The Griffins struck first as they scored a pair of first half goals in the 30th minute and the 44th minute to lead at the half 2-0.
Chestnut Hill added a goal early in the second half in the 51st minute to extend their lead to 3-0.
The Cougars got on the board just over a minute later as senior
Christian Castro (Clifton, NJ) found the back of the net on a penalty kick to cut the score to 3-1. Caldwell sliced the score down to a goal as junior
Jakub Havlak (Prague, Czech Republic) scored in the 82nd minute to make the score 3-2. The Cougars had a couple of chances in the final six minutes but could not come up with the equalizer.

Caldwell travels to Dominican College on Tuesday, October 20 for a CACC match at 3:30 pm.
