CALDWELL, N.J.- Senior
Sarina Soriano (San Jose, CA) netted a pair of goals to help lead the Caldwell University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win against Bloomfield College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.
The Cougars improve to 5-6-1 overall and 5-1-1 in CACC play, while the Bears fall to 3-8-1 overall and 1-7-1 in conference play.
Caldwell controlled the action from the outset as freshman
Jessica LaConde (Huntington Beach, CA) headed in the first goal of the game off a corner kick by senior
Kelly Folk (Jackson, NJ) in the 19
th minute. The Cougars struck again just over a minute later as Soriano extended the Caldwell lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 20
th minute.
The Cougars added two more goals in the second half as senior
Remi Piccirillo (Toms River, NJ) scored in the 63
rd minute off an assist from junior
Delaney Boyer (Freehold, NJ). Soriano capped the home team's scoring on the afternoon as she netted a goal in the 76
th minute of play
In net, freshman goalie
Mary Kanzler (East Northport, NY) was stellar in net, recording four saves to post her fourth shutout of the season.
The Cougars host NYIT in a non-conference match-up on Thursday, October 15 at 3 pm.
