CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell University men's soccer team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Concordia College, 4-0 Wednesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The Cougars drop to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in league play, while the Clippers improve to 5-1-1, 4-1-1 CACC.

The game remained scoreless until 13 seconds before halftime, when David McKenzie scored from the top of the penalty area off a pass from Nabeel Qawasmi. Caldwell pressed for the equalizer and nearly had it when a header by senior Steve Petrosino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) off a corner kick by junior Christian Castro (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) went over the crossbar in the 72nd minute. But Qawasmi put the Clippers ahead, 2-0 with a goal in the 78th minute, and Concordia added two goals in the final eight minutes of the game to pull away.

Junior goalkeeper Michael Hartmann (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) tallied three saves in goal for Caldwell, while Ruel Gordon had one save for the Clippers, which held a 20-12 edge in shots.

Caldwell plays another important CACC game on Saturday, Sept. 27, as Wilmington University visits Caldwell Field. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
