WATERBURY, Conn. – The Caldwell University women's tennis team defeated Post University, 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Tuesday afternoon at Chase Collegiate School. The win is the first CACC victory of the season for the Cougars, who improve to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The Eagles drop to 0-5, 0-3 CACC.

Caldwell earned a point at No. 2 doubles, with senior Gwynne Alden (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) and junior Sara Riccardi (Jersey City, NJ/St. Dominic Acad.) winning 8-0. Alden and Riccardi also won their singles matches in straight sets at third and fourth singles, respectively. Junior Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Old Bridge) defeated Carolin Sure at second singles, 7-5, 6-2, while sophomore Koumudi Thirunagaru (San Ramon, CA/Homestead) was victorious in straight sets at fifth singles.

Caldwell hosts Molloy College in a non-conference dual on Tuesday, Sept. 30.  The first matches begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Caldwell University Tennis Courts.
