BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Caldwell University women's basketball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road game to Concordia College, 65-55 Wednesday evening at the Meyer Athletic Center. The Cougars fall to 6-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while the Clippers improve to 2-7, 2-2 CACC.
Caldwell trailed 15-4 with 12:26 left in the first half when a 10-0 run punctuated by a three from freshman guard
Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, NY/Christ the King) pulled the Cougars within one, 15-14. It was still a one-point game with two minutes remaining in the period when the Clippers closed out the half with a 6-2 run for a 35-30 halftime lead.

Emily Caswell (Wakefield, RI/Prout School) helped Caldwell tie the score37-37 over the first two minutes of the second half. But a 12-1 Concordia spree resulted in a 49-38 advantage with 14 minutes to play. The lead grew to as many as 13 points before the Cougars cut the deficit to six, 59-53 with 1:38 on the clock. But that's as close as it would get, as the Clippers snapped an 11-game losing streak to Caldwell.
Concordia shot 57.1 percent from the field in the second half and 51.9 percent for the game, marking the third straight game that the Cougars have allowed their opponent to shoot over 50 percent. Caldwell shot a season-low 29.2 percent from the floor.
Caswell led the Cougars with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Coscia added nine points, three assists and three steals. Junior guard
Nicole Angelo (Mount Laurel, NJ/Camden Catholic) also scored nine points. Concordia was paced by Hadiyah Black with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Jessica Rosalbo added 16 points and four assists.
The Cougars continue CACC play with a home game against Nyack College on Friday, Dec. 19. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
