BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Caldwell University women's soccer team received two goals apiece from senior forward
Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, NJ/Morris Catholic) and sophomore defender
Jessica Garretson (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) in a 6-0 victory over Bloomfield College Tuesday night at Foley Field. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win gives the Cougars a 5-4-2 mark overall and a 4-1-1 conference record. The Bears drop to 1-10, 1-6 CACC.
Garretson tallied the first goal of the game in the 14th minute by following a rebound off a shot by Migoya. Less than seven minutes later, Garretson scored again off an assist by sophomore midfielder
Delaney Boyer (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Boro). Senior midfielder
Emily Boehler (Shrewsbury, NJ/Red Bank Reg.) made it 3-0 with a penalty kick in the 33rd minute, then Migoya scored on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute for a 4-0 lead. Migoya netted an unassisted goal 90 seconds later, and freshman midfielder
Mia Haugen (Saupstad, Norway) closed out the scoring with her first collegiate goal in the 60th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kylie Whalen (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) earned the shutout with four saves in goal for Caldwell. Diana Vincentini made five saves for Bloomfield.
Caldwell returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 9 for a CACC game at Philadelphia University. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
