Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Caldwell Wraps Up Regular Season with 1-0 Victory Over Felician

CALDWELL, N.J. – Senior forward Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, NJ/Morris Catholic) scored the game's only goal in the 77th minute, as the Caldwell University women's soccer team ended the regular season with a 1-0 triumph over Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Wednesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The Cougars improve to 9-6-2 overall and 8-3-1 in the conference with the win, while the Golden Falcons fall to 10-4-3, 7-3-2 CACC.

The result clinches fourth place in the CACC for Caldwell and sets up a rematch with Felician in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament on Monday, Nov. 3.

The game was well played and competitive, with neither team able to gain an advantage. Then in the 77th minute, sophomore defender Jessica Garretson (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) collected the ball on the left side and sent a pass to Migoya, whose shot from 15 yards out beat goalkeeper Julia Sheridan for a 1-0 lead. The Cougars kept possession for most of the remaining 13 minutes and did not allow a shot the rest of the way. Migoya now has a team-leading nine goals, including four game-winners, and five assists for 23 points on the season.

Senior goalkeeper Robin Franchi (Sewell, NJ/Deptford) registered six saves for her sixth shutout of the season, while Sheridan had one save for Felician.

Caldwell and Felician will meet again in the CACC Tournament on Monday, Nov. 4 at Caldwell Field. Game time has yet to be announced.
