CALDWELL, N.J. – Senior forward
Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, NJ/Morris Catholic) scored a pair of second-half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit in the Caldwell University women's soccer team's 2-1 victory over Concordia College Thursday afternoon at the Kiwanis Oval. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win gives the Cougars an 8-5-2 record on the season, including a 7-2-1 mark in league play. The Clippers fall to 0-12-1, 0-11 CACC.
After a scoreless first half in which Concordia goalkeeper Samantha Smith made six saves, the Clippers took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Kaela Blanco in the 56th minute. Concordia maintained the lead until the 73rd minute, when Migoya scored an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1-1. One minute later, junior midfielder
Sarina Soriano (San Jose, CA/Archbishop Mitty) sent a pass down the right side to junior midfielder
Kelly Folk (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial). Folk cut the ball back across the face of the goal from the end line to Migoya, who scored her second goal of the game and her team-leading eighth goal of the season.
Concordia never threatened the rest of the way, as sophomore goalkeeper
Kylie Whalen (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) made one save for the win. Street finished with 11 saves, as the Cougars out-shot Concordia 24-4, including 17-3 in the second half.
Caldwell plays a CACC game at Georgian Court University on Saturday, Oct. 25. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. in Lakewood, N.J.
