CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College women's tennis team earned its first victory of the season, sweeping Post University, 9-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Tuesday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The Cougars improve to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference with the win, while the Eagles drop to 0-4, 0-3 CACC.

Caldwell started things off by winning all three doubles matches, led by the No. 1 doubles tandem of sophomore Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Old Bridge) and Junior Gwynne Alden (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan), who won by the score of 8-1. Freshmen Sara Riccardi (Jersey City, NJ/St. Dominic Acad.) and Nicole Caneo (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) won their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-2, while freshmen Gabriella Rosko (Leonardo, NJ/Mater Dei) and Koumudi Thirunagaru (San Ramon, CA/Homestead) were victorious at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.

The Cougars won all six singles matches in straight sets, with Slater, Riccardi and Rosko shutting out their opponents at first, third and sixth singles, respectively.

Caldwell plays at Holy Family University on Thursday, Sept. 26 in a CACC dual, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
