CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College women's tennis team played its first home dual of the season on Thursday, falling to non-conference foe East Stroudsburg University, 7-2 at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The loss keeps the Cougars winless at 0-3, while the Warriors open the season 1-0.
Caldwell had success at the top of the singles lineup, winning at first and second singles. Sophomore
Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Old Bridge) won her match at No. 1 singles in straight sets over Amina Dickson, 6-0, 6-0. Junior
Gwynne Alden (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) was victorious at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-4 in her match with Allison Bean.
The Cougars host Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual on Tuesday, Sept. 24, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts.
