Zaeske Selected ECAC Player of the Week for Volleyball

CALDWELL, N.J. – Caldwell College freshman outside hitter Taylor Zaeske (S. Milwaukee, WI/S. Milwaukee) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Volleyball Player of the Week, the organization announced. Zaeske, who was chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Monday, averaged 3.80 kills and 2.00 digs per set over six matches last week.

In Caldwell's first CACC match of the season, Zaeske tallied 14 kills and a .435 hitting percentage in a 3-0 victory at Felician on Thursday. She also had a career-high 19 kills, 10 digs and four service aces in a five-set triumph at the Pace Tournament against the host Setters on Friday. Then on Saturday, Zaeske registered a career-best 12 digs to go with 18 kills in a 3-2 loss to American International.

Through 10 matches this season, Zaeske leads the CACC with 119 kills and ranks second in the league with 3.61 kills per set.

The ECAC's membership includes approximately 300 colleges and universities from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois. Caldwell student-athletes have received weekly and year-end honors from the ECAC since joining the organization in 2004, and the men's and women's soccer teams and men's and women's basketball teams have competed in ECAC championship tournaments.

The Cougars (5-5) play a non-conference match at Molloy College on Thursday, Sept. 19, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
