CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College volleyball team lost to visiting Georgian Court University, 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Sunday afternoon in the George R. Newman Center. The Cougars, who lost by the scores of 17-25, 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 15-8, are now 14-10 overall and 11-3 in league play. The Lions improve to 12-11, 10-3 CACC.
Caldwell started fast, getting four kills from senior middle blocker
Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity) in a 25-17 win in the first set, and three kills from junior outside hitter
Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) in the second set. But Georgian Court regrouped and held the Cougars to a -.026 hitting percentage over the final three sets. The Lions also tallied 11 service aces for the match compared to five for Caldwell.
Freshman outside hitter
Taylor Zaeske (S. Milwaukee, WI/S. Milwaukee) led the Cougars with 12 kills, while Bausch finished with 11 kills and a .348 hitting percentage. Freshman setter

Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) each recording 13 digs. Tatiana Villariny and Alice Vencente led Georgian Court with 13 kills apiece.
Caldwell plays a CACC match at Post University on Wednesday, Oct. 30, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
