CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College women's tennis team fell to St. Thomas Aquinas College, 7-2 in a non-conference dual Saturday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The result gives the Cougars a 1-9 mark on the season, while the Spartans improve to 4-5.

Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Old Bridge) won her matches at both singles and doubles to account for both of Caldwell's points. Slater combined with junior
Gwynne Alden (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) to defeat Bianca Signore and Candice Zugibe at No. 1 doubles by the score of 8-1. She then beat Samantha Vinci at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Caldwell plays a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual at Philadelphia University on Sunday, Oct. 13, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
