Box Score

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Caldwell College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to Molloy College, 2-1 at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex Wednesday evening. The loss keeps the Cougars winless on the season at 0-2, while the Lions improve to 2-1.

Molloy got on the scoreboard just over nine minutes into the first half on a goal by Dan Brown. Brown then set up Tyler De La Torre in the 21st minute to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. In the second half, sophomore midfielder Yousef Elhusseini (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) scored the Cougars' first goal of the season, blasting home a loose ball off a corner kick to make the score 2-1. Caldwell pressed for the equalizer, building an 8-3 advantage in shots, but the Cougars were unable to complete the comeback.

Senior Brian Agostini (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) made two saves in 75 minutes between the posts, while freshman goalkeeper Michael Hartmann (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) played the final 15 minutes. Michael Hunter tallied four saves for Molloy, as Caldwell out-shot the Lions 13-9 for the game.

The Cougars host Holy Family University on Saturday, Sept. 8 in the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game of the season. The kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
