Holy Family Downs Caldwell in Volleyball

Box Score CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College volleyball team fell to Holy Family University, 26-24, 25-22, 25-23 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon in the George R. Newman Center. The Cougars drop to 19-12 overall and 12-5 in the conference, while the Tigers improve to 12-17, 10-7 CACC.

The loss came in the final regular-season home game for Caldwell seniors Maddy Amon (Louisville, KY/Bishop Moore), Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) and Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline). The trio helped the Cougars win more matches (90) than during any other four-year period in the history of the program.

Mosher led the Caldwell with 10 kills, while McDonough registered eight kills and a match-high 13 digs. Freshman outside hitter Rachael DiLeonardo (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) also had eight kills to go with seven digs and four blocks. Junior setter Lisa Roth (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) had 29 assists and freshman middle blocker Kelsey Blankerts (Sylvania, OH/Southview) recorded six blocks. Emma Herring paced the Tigers with a match-high 15 kills and a .483 hitting percentage.

Caldwell is scheduled to play at Concordia College in a CACC match on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in Bronxville, N.Y.
