WATERBURY, Conn. – The Caldwell College women's tennis team closed out the 2012 season with a 9-0 victory over Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Sunday afternoon at Chase Collegiate School. The Cougars finish with a 3-8 record overall and a 1-7 mark in conference play, while the Eagles fall to 0-10, 0-7 CACC.

In doubles, sophomores Gwynne and Paige Alden (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) won their fifth consecutive match to improve to 6-5 on the season. Sophomore Briana Gaspich (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) and freshman Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Old Bridge) won at No. 1 doubles to improve to 4-7, and senior Danielle Levasseur (Eastport, NY/Eastport South) and sophomore Alyssa Brillante (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) improved to 3-8 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Slater completed her first season with a record of 3-8 at first singles, Gwynne and Paige Alden both finished 4-7 at second and third singles, respectively, and Gaspich turned in a team-best 6-5 record at fourth singles. Brillante and Levasseur, who played her final match at Caldwell, both won in singles for the first time this season.
